How do you choose an undercounter refrigerator size?
Choose a cabinet that fits the available space, holds your actual containers and suits the station’s workload. Check external dimensions, usable storage and installation clearances together before choosing a model. Cabinet length alone cannot tell you how much of your stock will fit.
What space should you measure?
Record the clear width, depth and height at the intended location, including existing counters, skirting and nearby equipment. Check the model’s dimensions with its supplied feet or castors, the door opening space, and access through the building.
Use the manufacturer’s required ventilation and service clearances in your layout. A cabinet fitting between two benches does not establish that it can be installed correctly there. Confirm where its air inlet, outlet and maintenance access need to remain clear.
How much stock will fit inside?
List the containers, trays and bottles you want to store, with their sizes and the quantities needed between replenishment trips. Compare that list with internal dimensions, shelf spacing, permitted loading and usable capacity. Ask what a published litre figure measures, particularly when comparing gross volume with a stated storage capacity.
Door count and external length are useful layout details, but the compressor compartment, insulation, internal arrangement and shelf configuration also need checking. Ask for a drawing or a container-fit demonstration when the working space is tight.
Will the model suit your service?
Describe how many people use the station, how frequently doors open and how often stock is replenished. Match those conditions, the room’s expected ambient temperature and nearby heat sources to the exact model’s published operating limits.
Before ordering, confirm the cooling arrangement, electrical connection, door handing, cleaning access and energy evidence under comparable test conditions. Keep the selected model’s data sheet with your final layout so fit and operating requirements can be checked together.
